Luka Ringsmuth – Level 3 Laboratory Technician

Luka recently completed the Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship with the added Level 4 HNC in Applied Science achieving a fantastic DISTINCTION grade. Reflecting on his experience, he describes the programme as both transformative and rewarding.
“I have enjoyed being on the apprenticeship so much. I expanded my knowledge from my previous A-Level studies and gained a lot of new soft skills that I didn’t have before. I also pushed myself to do things I wouldn’t usually do, such as entering competitions and applying for awards, which helped me put both my technical and soft skills into practice.”

Luka’s Journey: From A-Levels to Aspiring Chemist

Luka recently completed the Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship with the added Level 4 HNC in Applied Science achieving a fantastic DISTINCTION grade. Reflecting on his experience, he describes the programme as both transformative and rewarding.

For Luka, the apprenticeship was a clear step toward his future career.
“It has enabled me to perform well in my role and to advance in my career. By doing this apprenticeship, I am one step closer to my goal of becoming a scientist with a degree in
chemistry, learning through practical experience as well as theory.”

Throughout his journey, Luka felt supported at every stage. He credits his tutors for their guidance.
“I was supported by all my tutors through feedback on assignments, answering questions, and much more.”

When asked if he would recommend apprenticeships, Luka is clear.
“I would recommend apprenticeships 100%. They are much better than A-Levels to an extent and, in my opinion, a lot better than just regular university. I have learned so much and, more importantly, I have grown so much. I cannot recommend apprenticeships enough.”

Looking back, Luka describes his apprenticeship as a positive and life-changing experience that opened new opportunities. He encourages others to consider the same path.
“I had endless opportunities to do my best and I would suggest to anyone who is unsure about university to try an apprenticeship. It will be worth it.”
