Working alongside experienced chemists, you will earn while you learn towards a Level 3 Laboratory Technician Apprenticeship, gaining hands on experience formulating, testing and developing paints and coatings.

What you’ll do at work

Key Responsibilities:

• Formulation: Assist senior chemists in weighing, mixing, and formulating new paint batches and raw materials (pigments, resins, and additives)
• Quality Testing: Carry out viscosity, gloss, colour matching, and durability tests using specialised laboratory equipment
• Data Recording: Accurately record data, analyse your results, and maintain detailed documentation
• Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean, COSHH-compliant laboratory environment and adhere strictly to health and safety standards
• Apprenticeship Studies: Complete all required coursework, attend training sessions, and actively apply your academic learning to the workplace
